DAVEY RAY MOOR
Scorpio. Blue eyes, curly hair. Self taught singer-songwriter and chancer. Temple of accumulated error. Born in Beirut to Australian UN workers. Raised in Middle East then Sydney and Canberra. Left school for the big city. Wrote advertisements and jingles for a while. Quit and tried to save the world. Failed. Also played in psychedelic Australian bands of some renown. Tried to be a pop star. Quit. Made a living doing piano bars and restaurants. Got stuck. Fortune smiled! - offered a job in London writing film soundtracks, television themes and advertising music. Formed a successful composing and mixing partnership with Robin Brown. Tried to be a pop star. Failed. Retired near Glastonbury. Won various awards for media and animation stuff. Chilled out. Got better. Lived on royalties and dug the record collection. Got into crooning. Wrote songs that felt great to sing. Thought that Bowie or Chet singing Cohen to Jarrett's piano with Sly's grooves would be nectar. A one trick pony with a diamond idea. Formed a 3 piece, connected the right people with enough belief and the rest became public knowledge. Ironically, will probably be remembered as a stunt trumpeter.
