REALLYMUSICRADIO presents
Emily Lord
An award-winning New England vocalist as a teen, Emily produced and sold her first album, Beginnings, while attending The University of Notre Dame. With early success of her debut CD combined with high academic honors and recognition as the University's top Army ROTC student, Notre Dame named her one of its five most intriguing seniors. After graduation, Emily fulfilled her ROTC requirement by Captaining troops around the globe in Saudi Arabia, Korea, and Texas. Upon release of her second critically acclaimed CD, RearView Mirror, Emily put her music career on hold and made the decision to become an executive in the Silicon Valley while her husband attended school. She quickly came to realize that although the material rewards were comforting, her heart was not in it. Never one to shy away from the road less traveled, Emily left her "day" job and headed to San Francisco to rededicate herself to music. September 2004 brought a "brand new day" for Emily as she welcomed her daughter into the world.
Now a proud mom-musician, the Mamapalooza festival invited Emily to chair their San Francisco debut to celebrate moms in music and the arts. Mamapalooza, founded in New York in 2002, has garnered media attention for its celebration of the "mom rock" movement with feature stories by ABC, NBC, CBS, National Public Radio, USA Today, and People Magazine among others.
For Emily, life has taken a 180° turn. With a clear vision for her future, she combines her time coordinating Mamapalooza-San Francisco, raising her daughter, and now, hitting the road to promote Brand New Day. Emily takes the joyful chaos that is modern motherhood all in stride - one day at a time.
 | Brand New Day
Brand New Day is heartland rock with threads of folk, country, and pop weaving their way into Emily Lord's smooth signature sound. Her style is reminiscent of a cross somewhere between Bob Seger and Mary Chapin Carpenter
