Mike Andersen

Mike Andersen Band know where they are coming from, and where they want to go. This can be heard and felt on their brand new record; TOMORROW!

Two years after the critically acclaimed debut album, MY LOVE FOR THE BLUES, 27 year old Mike Andersen an his band are ready with the follow up.

"It is important for us, that we have found our own way of expressing ourselves, where we combine both traditional and modern elements", says Mike Andersen. The Music on TOMORROW is therefore markedly different from the debut album; the sound and arrangements are boiled down, and emphasis placed on song writing and personal expression. "TOMORROW draws a line from the Masters we admire - to ourselves"

It isn't far from classic Blues and Soul to modern R&B, Rap and Hip-Hop for Mike Andersen band. They are all black American music styles, but which have their roots in different periods of time. TOMORROW is inspired by all of these genres, as can be heard, especially on SAME DAMN TIME and NOBODY ELSE BUT YOU, where Copenhagen based rapper, Al Agami, is featured.

"The art lies in trying something new, losing your footing for a moment", says Andersen, and continues, "but blues music is not something you give long speeches about - it's something you do!" For the Mike Andersen Band, Blues and Soul music is about the life we all know. "That's why this music is timeless, and just as relevant today as it was 50 years ago."
