Christine Kane "Right Outta Nowhere" This tune is my current favorite of the year. Although Christine's new CD (same title) is not her first, this is the first I've heard of her and I wonder how I'd missed her before now. Great songs, a wonderful voice and maybe best of all, a spirit that seems very genuine. The title track is one of those songs that sounds better with each listen...and it's also an album that sounds good from start to finish. You'll also hear "Overjoyed" "The Good You Do" "Now That You Know" and "Four Legs Good. Two Legs Bad." on reallymusicradio.

William Nowik "I Think I Know Why, I Don't Know Why" The title of this song from William Nowik's new album "Notes From The Underground" might give you a little hint as to what's in store not just in the song, but on the CD as a whole. The music and the point of view are pretty difficult to describe. Although it was produced by Jim DeVito and features drum work from Stan Lynch (both of Tom Petty fame), I'd say it's not quite like anything you've heard before. Your best clue to Mr Nowik (without listening to the whole record) probably will be found by visiting his web site. And if you DO get the CD, make sure to give yourself a good uninterrupted hour to sit and listen and absorb it. I think you'll find it worth the time (and money) invested. Also hear "Thinkin' To Myself" and "Crimson Flame (At The Foot Of The Buddha)" on reallymusicradio.

Reckless Kelly "Let's Just Fall" This tune from Reckless Kelly's latest album "Under The Table & Above The Sun" is the primary airplay track partly just because it's the first cut on the CD. It's one of those albums that has so much good stuff on it that it's hard to decide what NOT to play. Excellent songs and performances from this proto-Austin (by way of Bend, Oregon) new millennium country-rock band with vocals that might remind you of Steve Earle on a particularly tuneful day. The other songs you'll hear on reallymusicradio are "May Peace Find You Tonight" (with Kim Richey) "Desolation Angels" "Everybody" and "Set Me Free."

4 Way Street "Change Gonna Come" A couple of months ago an independent promotion guy sent me a CD by Jim Boggia, a singer-songwriter from Philadelphia ("Fidelity Is The Enemy"). I liked it a lot and you'll hear tunes from it on reallymusicradio. But now comes 4 Way Street which turns out to be Philly's version of a songwriter supergroup with excellent harmonies (a la The Thorns). The album is called "Pretzel Park." Jim Boggia is one of the four members of this band and a couple of his songs are on this great record. But it turns out, having known of him already didn't make that much difference...since there are four of them and all of them are good, it's kind of hard to narrow down the choices. "Several Thousand" "Shoot The Moon" "Everywhere You Go" "Annie Also Ran" and "Barbed Wire" are the tunes I narrowed it down to for reallymusicradio...but again, it's all good.

Sirens "I'll Be A Kite" I have to credit my friend and long-time reallymusicradio supporter Bobby Caputo for bringing these talented women to my attention. They're based in Columbus, Ohio and the title of their most recent album is "She Don't Worry." Great songwriting, fabulous harmonies and a slightly skewed sensibility...all of which are big plusses here at reallymusicradio. As Bobby did for me, I recommend Sirens to your ears for a unique dining and dancing experience. "Night Falls" "Make My Day" and "SOS" are other tunes you can hear from Sirens on reallymusicradio.

Chris Hickey "palisades" One of the great things about running a radio station is the people you come across in the course of doing everyday stuff. Several months ago, I sent an email to the folks who run the website for Daniel Lanois to let them know reallymusicradio was really behind Daniel's latest album "Shine." The response I got was from Chris Hickey...the site administrator who lives in Southern California and is himself a talented songwriter and musician. Chris sent me his CD "release" and I loved it and have been playing tunes from it ever since. "palisades" is one of the more recent additions to the playlist but you can also hear "kitchen" "friday morn" "unprotected" and "breaking" on reallymusicradio.
